Bhindi Sabji

                                                       Bhindi Sabji


Ingredients:

  • Bhindi - 250 gms
  • Onion (medium) - 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato (medium) - 1 finely chopped
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Amchur Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash bhindi and dry it using cloth.
  2. Cut the bhindi tops and tails and slice them  into 1/4 inch thick round circles.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan on a medium flame.
  4. Add the cumin seeds and fry till light brown.
  5. Add the onion and fry till the onions turn light brown.
  6. Add  turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute for 10 seconds.
  7. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes turn soft.
  8. Add the coriander and dry mango powders and mix well.
  9. Now add bhindi and mix well. 
  10. Add the gram masala and salt and mix again.
  11. Cook until the bhindi is tender.  Fry for 8-9 minutes.Keep stirring it occasionally.
  12. Serve hot with chapatis or parathas.
