Lauki Kofta Curry

                                                                 Lauki Kofta Curry   

 Lauki Kofta Curry is very healthy and delicious recipe.It is a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It is very tasty. So let's prepare recipe.

Ingredients:

For Kofta -

  • Grated gourd- 2 1/2 cups
  • Besan- 1 cup
  • Green Chilli- 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger - Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Coriander-1 tbsp finely chopped
  • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Oil- to fry
For The Curry:

To make paste -

  • Tomato- 1 cup
  • Green Chilly- 2 to 3
  • Ginger-1 inch chopped
  • Garlic cloves- 5-6 chopped

Rest the ingredients:

  • Oil-  2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Hing- 1-2 pinch
  • Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • coriander-1 tbsp
  • Yogurt (curd) - 1/4 cup

Method:

Make Koftas -

  1. Peel the lauki and grate it.
  2. Squeeze water out of the lauki.
  3. Take a bowl and put the squeezed lauki, besan, red chilli powder, salt, green chilies, ginger and garlic paste, Garam masala, coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Heat the oil in pan for deep fry.
  5. Shape into small sized balls and fry it till they are golden brown.Keep aside.

For the curry:

  1. Take the tomatoes, ginger,garlic,green chillies in grinder and grind them into a smooth paste and keep aside.
  2. Put the oil in a pan and heat the oil. Add the cumin seeds and fry to a light brown.
  3. Add the hing  turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring regularly.
  4. Now add the paste. Cook it till the masala release the oil.
  5. Add one glass of water into the masala.
  6. When it starts boiling, then add whisked yogurt and mix it well.
  7. And continue stirring until it boil.
  8. Add the garam masala and salt.
  9. Now add the koftas and mix into curry.
  10. Turn off the flame.
  11. Take out the Lauki Kofta Curry in a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and serve lauki kofta hot with rotis, naan or  rice.
